Rick Cross - Just want to introduce myself!
My interests includes firearms and computers (many other things as well).
My profession is a specialist in Information Technology with experience with PC's, servers, and networks - I've touched just about everything. I've worked in the IT field for 24 years and had computers a couple of years before that. When I started in computers, Microsoft DIDN'T have Windows!
As a firearms trainer, I've handled firearms my entire life from about the age of 8. I've been an instructor for 5 years and have been a Nevada CCW (Carry Concealed Weapon) instructor since the end of December '09. Personally, I've held a Nevada CCW permit for over 6 years.
In respects to the NRA, I hold training disciplines in Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun and am also a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer and Personal Protection in the Home Instructor. At the end of this month (March), I'll be attending Utah's CCW instructor course to become certified to issue Utah CCW permits. My firearms website is http://www.besafefirearms.com/
My NRA basic pistol course is FREE OF CHARGE with the exception of the student kit ($15), range time and ammunition. If you have a pistol but have never been through a safety class, contact me and get into one of my classes. You'll be surprised by what you learn and YOU'LL KNOW how to handle a pistol safely.
Be Safe - Rick

The EPA and the administrations bid to regulate C02
The administration, word that as President Obama if you want to, has publically stated that they didn’t need the congress to pass ‘cap-and-trade’ because the EPA had a finding that C02 gases were a public health hazard and could thereby enact emission regulations by virtue of being the Environmental Protection Agency.
This amounts to nothing more than an tactic to pass a defacto cap-and-trade scheme (better known as cap-n-tax). This would be the biggest single tax increase in the history of our nation and all coming from a governmental agency that does not have the constitutional authority to impose taxes. There are movements in congress to stop the EPA’s actions and they need our support. If any of the congressmen and women or any of these people are your senators then by all means contact them and show your support of stopping the EPA. http://www.nytimes.com/gwire/2010/03/01/01greenwire-house-gop-to-launch-another-salvo-at-epa-emiss-43276.html .
I would also urge any of you who read this blog, that have an interest in keeping up on some specific topic, to go to http://www.google.com/alerts and request daily alerts on your topics of interest. I have alerts on ‘Gun Control’, ‘Concealed Carry’, ‘EPA’, and ‘Climate Change’, so you will be seeing things from time to time from me that originate from those alerts.

Well I watched the segment on John Ralston’s face to face tonight, not only am I not impressed, he appears to be just what I guessed he was when I first heard about this, a slick used car salesman.
I don’t see someone that is committed to helping this country, what I see is someone who is our to maintain the status quo. He is a contractor and if Harry can funnel stimulus money into this state he will benefit.
He may be the most conservative person on the planet but if he is that committed to the ideals as he says he is, then why start a new party ‘The Tea Party’, why not just file as an independent or a libertarian. This is a move to cash in on the tea party movement without putting any work into it…
So far I don’t believe this guy for a minute and with any steam at all he will be a spoiler.
